Our story begins with our great grandfather, a skilled blacksmith who owned and worked a grist mill powered by the natural springs on their land. The millrace—a water channel that directed water from the spring to the millwheel—was the heart of the operation. As the wheel turned, it powered the mill, just as craftsmanship, dedication, and hard work have always powered our family. It’s this legacy of precision and skill that drives us today.

 

A millrace, historically, was used to channel water to the mill’s wheel, providing the power needed to grind grain, saw wood, and perform countless other tasks essential to community growth.
